The Hillrally Club
We joined the Hillrally Club, a club which was formed to promote the very
different motor disipline called 'the hillrally'.
There we meet some of the finest off-roaders in the country, all meeting with
one thing in mind - the success of the Club's events and the promotion of
hillrallies in general. Everyone has a share in ensuring the October event is
successful and we all turn our hands to whatever job is necessary on the day.
But the weeks before the event are hectic while we make ready the course of the
October event - The Hillrally. There, all the best off-roaders compete for the
coveted first prize racing over
ground we have driven at speeds between 1 and 5 mph!
In 2001 the dates for The Hillrally are 5/6/7 October. Why not join our Safety
Team? We need radio marshals, safety marshals, start and finish crews, timing
crews, oh! just everything really. If you could help, use the link below:
Harold Lowe and Les Nehrlich are the pair responsible for getting the timing
crews and safety marshals where they need to be, a worse job than ours!
If you have never been to a Hillrally but are experienced in stage rally work
why not try coming along to learn how? There is only a little difference in most
of the posts. For instance, if you are a qualified rally Stage Commander (yes,
all manner of people become radio operators!) why not ask Harold and Les to put
you with one of our Stage Commanders for experience, then when you are happy you
could work on your own.
